ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effect of repeated high-frequency transcranial magnetic stimulation over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) on the severity and symptoms of Internet addiction. Methods:Fifty college students with different degrees of Internet addiction were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group, each of 25. In addition to psycho-behavioral therapy, the treatment group was given 10Hz rTMS over the left DLPFC for 40 days, while the control group was given sham stimulation. Before the experiment and after 4 and 8 weeks of treatment, both groups were evaluated using the Internet Addiction Diagnostic Scale (IAT), Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS-11) and a visual analogue scale (VAS).Results:After 4 weeks the average total BIS-11 score, attention factor score and VAS score of the treatment group were significantly better than the control group′s averages and better than before the treatment. After 8 weeks of treatment, the average IAT scores, BIS-11 scores on each item and VAS scores of the treatment group had decreased significantly more and were still significantly better than the control group′s averages. Conclusion:High frequency rTMS can safely and effectively relieve the symptoms of Internet addiction, at least among college students.

ABSTRACT

Objective To systematically evaluate the association between frailty and risk of postoperative delirium. Methods Systematic review of literature was conducted using eight electronic databases:PubMed,Embase,CENTRAL,Web of Science,CNKI,CBM,VIP and Wanfang Data, and prospective cohort studies about association between frailty and postoperative delirium published before March 2017 were included. Two authors independently screened the literature, extracted the data, and assessed the quality using NOS Scale, and meta-analysis was conducted by RevMan 5.3 software. Results A total of eight studies involving 846 patients were included in this review.Meta-analysis showed that:frailty was associated with higher risk of postoperative delirium [OR=3.63,95%CI (2.06,6.40),P<0.001].Subgroup analysis showed that:①Frailty assessment tool:Fried frailty criteria and other frailty assessment were associated with increased risk of postoperative delirium[OR=5.81,95%CI(3.54,9.77),P<0.001],[OR=1.76,95%CI(1.06,2.92),P=0.03].②Age:frailty patients aged 60~74 had increased risk of postoperative delirium [OR=5.05,95%CI (3.14,8.12),P<0.001],but for patients aged ≥ 75,frailty wasn't associated with postoperative delirium [0R=1.73,95%CI (0.99,3.00),P=0.05].③Type of surgery:for cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular surgery patients, frailty was associated with increased risk of postoperative delirium [OR=3.40,95%CI (1.64,7.05),P<0.001],[OR=4.95,95%CI (2.41,10.16),P<0.001].Conclusion Frailty can increase the risk of postoperative delirium. In consideration of quantity and quality of included studies, the conclusion needs to be validated by multi-centered prospective cohort studies with large sample size.

ABSTRACT

Background contamination is a major problem in the analysis of organophosphate esters (OPEs). In this study, the possible sources of OPEs pollution were screened and several different ways were applied to minimize the blank contamination. Under the strict quality control measures, the cleanup efficiency of different solid phase extraction (SPE) was investigated for OPEs in different environmental matrices. A method was developed for the detection of 7 OPEs in dust, soil and sediment samples by gas chromatograph coupled with mass spectrometry ( GC / MS). Target compounds were extracted by hexane:dichloromethane (1 : 1, V/ V) followed by aminopropyl silica gel SPE column cleanup for dust, and target compounds in soil and sediment were Soxhlet extracted and cleanuped by two-step SPE. The results showed that the aminopropyl silica gel SPE column displayed the best purification performance among the three employed columns. Instrumental detection limits among the 7 OPEs ranged from 2. 5 to 25. 8 μg / L, and the method limits of quantification (MLOQs) in dust and soil sample ranged from 1. 4 to 15. 7 ng / g and 0. 3 to 2. 9 ng / g, respectively. The average recoveries of 7 OPEs in different matrices ( dust and soil) at two spiked concentration levels ranged from 67. 9% to 117. 4% . The proposed method was successfully applied to detect OPEs in different environmental matrices collected in Shanghai.
